All WCA corporate members have the same rights, whether large or small, whether from emerging economies or developed countries. We aim to provide a platform where even the smallest producers have a voice and to offer practical services to help members improve their business through knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices. This sentiment is echoed by Song Zhiping, President of WCA, who emphasises the WCA’s unique founding principle of equal representation.

The equal opportunity offered to all companies is reflected in the composition of the WCA board which has directors representing very large and very small as well as medium sized companies from Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe. In addition, membership in the professional committees is open to all members and these committees have a key role in setting the agenda of the Association.

Your Key Benefits

WCA offers practical services to help members improve their business through knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices. This takes a number of forms:

  • Members-only technical forums, usually held at a member’s plant, in which relevant managers from member companies can share experience on a specific topic, learn from experts and see new technology in action
  • Activities that respond to members’ specific needs, such as visits to recently built plants to see the latest ideas in plant layout and design, or energy audits by an expert team to help define how to improve a particular plant’s energy efficiency.
  • Opportunities to learn about new technologies and assess the related prospects at a very early stage in their development, helping members to stay a step ahead of the competition

As a worldwide organization, WCA facilitates cooperation at sector level. This gives members opportunities to work across sectors on development of industrial symbiosis models that consider sustainability, digitalisation and other trends which lead to new business opportunities for the building materials sector, benefiting both our members and society at large.
