London, 11th May 2020 - As part of our services for members, and to connect the global cement community during the COVID-19 pandemic when business as usual is not possible, WCA has scheduled a range of webinars covering diverse topics under two broad themes, "COVID-19 & the Cement Industry", and "Life After COVID-19". These are hosted twice, once in Chinese, once in English. Last week's webinar, featuring Associate Corporate Member, FLSmidth, discussing Alternative Fuel Upgrade Opportunities, saw over 800 participants attending from around the world.
Ian Riley, WCA CEO opened the webinar, introducing the topic and the speakers: Mads Nielsen, General Product Manager - Alternative Fuels, who presented the English-language session, and Zhou Lun, General Manager for Cement Processes at FLS China, who presented in Chinese. Global Chief Process Engineer, Rasmus Franklin Momme, also joined the panel.
The speakers introduced FLSmidth's Mission Zero (the company's roadmap towards a zero emissions cement plant), material handling and dosing, pyro-solutions and clinker quality. Following the presentations, there was an in-depth Q&A session, which saw fantastic engagement and sparked dicussions on some of the more detailed aspects of Alternative Fuels technologies.
Our thanks to all who attended: WCA will continue to act as a platform for contributing to the development of the world cement industry through knowledge exchange and sharing of practices and experiences. We hope that you will join one of our future webinars, a calendar of which can be viewed here.
