11 December 2019 - In order to promote the uptake of energy-saving and emissions-reduction technologies in the world cement industry, alongside the sharing of best practice and innovation, the World Cement Association arranged a members-only forum to Jining Conch on 6th December 2019. More than 20 managers and senior technicians from South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and the China attended the event.

10 December 2019 - On the 5th and 7th December 2019, the World Cement Association hosted its very first Members-Only forum at Anhui Conch and Zanhuang BBMG in China on the topic of Smart Plants and AI in cement industry operations. 19 plant and engineering managers and automation specialists representing 11 companies attended the one-day workshop, hosted by the WCA in collaboration with Conch and BBMG.

London, 24 September 2019 - The World Cement Association announced today that it has appointed two new Joint Chairmen, Mr Cui Xingtai of China United Cement Company (CUCC), China and Mr Vincent Lefebvre of Cem’In’Eu, France.

London, 17 July 2019 – The World Cement Association announced today that it has appointed Mr. Mohammed A. Al-Garni as Vice President. As well as being a long-standing Director and Board Member of the WCA, Mr Al-Garni is Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Cement Company.

London, July 2019 - WCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Riley as CEO of WCA effective September 1, 2019. Ian has many years of international experience in Europe, America and Asia, most recently in China where he was the country manager for LafargeHolcim from 2008 until earlier this year. Ian’s industry and international experience will be extremely helpful in the next stage of WCA’s development.
