London, 17 July 2019 – The World Cement Association announced today that it has appointed Mr. Mohammed A. Al-Garni as Vice President. As well as being a long-standing Director and Board Member of the WCA, Mr Al-Garni is Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Cement Company.

London, July 2019 - WCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Riley as CEO of WCA effective September 1, 2019. Ian has many years of international experience in Europe, America and Asia, most recently in China where he was the country manager for LafargeHolcim from 2008 until earlier this year. Ian’s industry and international experience will be extremely helpful in the next stage of WCA’s development.

Beijing, May 11, 2019 -  at its annual meeting in Beijing the China Association for Public Companies (CAPCO) elected WCA President Song Zhiping as its new Chairman.

London, 5 December 2018 – The World Cement Association has said it expects global cement demand growth to slow next year, as the positive outlook and signs of recovery seen in the second half of 2016 have started to fade away in the face of rising downside risks emerging in Q2 2018. 

London/Beijing, 19 November 2018 - The World Cement Association (WCA) announced today the opening of its World Cement Association Beijing and President’s office. The facility will be an addition to the association’s headquarters in London and will be located at the building of China National Building Material Group (CNBM).

We established the World Cement Association in year 2016 to create a global platform of cooperation among cement companies. Today, WCA corporate members represent a total cement production capacity exceeding 1 Billion tons. The Association is now spans 38 countries around the world.
