To celebrate International Women’s Day 2020, held on Sunday 8th March, WCA are creating a blog mini-series highlighting the achievements of women across the global cement industry and showcasing where our members are working hard to achieve gender equality and diversity in their companies.

In this blog, we showcase the careers of four prominent women in the Chinese cement industry, who have been central to technological developments which have driven forward industrial progress.

Dr Hu Zhijuan – Director of the Sinoma Research and Design Institute

Dr Hu’s research focuses on pyro-systems, RDF technology and ultra-low emissions in the cement industry. Many of the technologies she has been in charge of have been successfully applied in real cement production lines, achieving high levels of energy savings, resource recycling and improved environmental protecton. For over thirty years, her work and efforts have greatly contributed to the development of the Chinese cement industry. (top left photo)
